About 1990 Tudor Submariner jumbo ref 79090
Tudor launched the 3rd generation submariner ref 79090 in 1989. It was ceased in 1995. Then come the 79190 till 1999.
Basically, 79090 is similar in size and outlook to Rolex 16610. It's a cheaper version Rolex submariner.
Mat black non serif dial. Triangular shape hour markers at 6/9/12 positions. Plastic cover.
Two choices re colour: black dial black bezel and blue dial blue bezel.
No bezel lock. Hence, the bezel can be turned in two directions.
Band used is ref 9315 folded style 3oyster band with 380B lugs. cal ETA 2824-2.
Rolex crown and case back were still in use.
In 1997, a mixed use of Tudor crown and Rolex case back was commonly seen.
In 1998, almost all Rolex related markings were removed from Tudor watch.
39MM case without crown according to Tudor official web site.

Early stage 79090 dials were "T SWISS T" at bottom. Then, (started from about 1992), changed to use "T SWISS MADE T" dial.

Upper portion words are " PRINCE OYSTERDAE" till 1997.

Then, the words were changed to "PRINCE DATE"

After 1997, "PRINCE DATE" dial.
It is interesting and exciting to collect vintage watch. You can taste the unique old age style that disappeared at present. Something you cannot find to day re-appear in front of you. And, seems reminding you the beautiful good old memory!
Starting from 2010, Rolex changed the outlook of its sport watch. The watch leg lines were removed. This blog re-capped all the beauty and elegance of the 79090 watch leg lines as follows:
