Generally speaking, Rolex watch is divided into 3 categories:

a. 14xxx series no date Oyster Perpetual,34MM case diameter

b. 15xxx series Oyster Perpetual Date, 34MM case diameter

c. 16xxx series Oyster Perpetual DateJust, 36MM diameter

36MM inclusive of crown definitely is a bit "small" base on current market trend. Beginners should be psychologically prepared to admire the beauty and elegance of "small" when collecting vintage watch for at least over 30 years of age.

In the pre-owned watch market, price is basically positively linked with the case diameter (other things being equal). In fact, the Rolex 15 and 16 series used the same top movement of that time. This 15223 models adopted the cal 3135, top cal being used in 16 series and most Rolex sport watch models. Picking this watch certainly is a paying less but enjoying more act!

Of course, the prime factor is your OWN preference. I always encourage watch lovers to pick what they like rather than what the market like!
